Yoshi first encountered African trade beads in the early 1980’s in a shop in SoHo New York City, growing a collection of antique trade beads that she has brought together with kumihimo, the ancient Japanese art of hand-knotting. More than East meets West, Yoshi hopes to express history interwoven with cultures in a timeless appeal.
